About this property

Welcome to Casa Herrmann Suites

Casa Herrmann Suites is a four-star hotel located in the heart of Mexico City’s Centro Histórico, just a block from the bustling Zócalo plaza. Its central setting offers easy access to iconic landmarks such as the Palacio de Bellas Artes, Constitution Plaza, and the Templo Mayor Museum, making it convenient for guests interested in history and culture. The proximity to multiple airports, including Mexico City International Airport Benito Juárez about 24 minutes away by car, further enhances its accessibility.

The property features spacious, apartment-style suites each equipped with kitchenettes, allowing for comfortable extended stays. Guests frequently highlight the clean and modern rooms, many with large windows or balconies offering city views. While the air conditioning is noted as functional, some find it modest for warmer nights. The vintage-style elevator and an inviting interior atrium create a distinctive ambiance, complemented by a small rooftop swimming pool and terrace that provide a pleasant place to relax.

Reviewers often praise the hotel staff for their friendliness and helpfulness, even when language barriers arise. Practical touches like a keycard entrance and on-site doorman add to the sense of security, though the doorman primarily speaks Spanish. Breakfast service is minimal, generally including coffee and baked goods, so visitors planning a hearty start might prefer exploring nearby eateries like El Cardenal.

This hotel suits travelers seeking a centrally located base with spacious accommodations and some self-catering facilities in a vibrant historic district. It appeals especially to visitors valuing proximity to cultural sites and city life, while offering a quiet retreat within the inner courtyard and rooftop pool. Some guests note occasional noise from the street and limited power outlets near beds, so those sensitive to such details may want to consider these factors.

I stayed on the top floor in the room with the patio. Beautiful surises and sunsets daily. We were there 5 days and could have easily stayed for a month. The staff is friendly, everything is clean and it's a beautiful location. Close to great restraunts, the city square, and other places of interest.

Casa Herrmann suites are perfectly located close to all the central sites in Mexico City. Plaza Mayor is a block away. It's just 8km away from the airport. Also, the Anthropology Museum is only 8km away. Rooms at the hotel are huge and feel like apartments. There is a kitchenette in each of them. Bathrooms are spacious and well equipped. The inner atrium served well for our group activities. The atrium feels cozy. So does the roof terrace with the lovely tiny swimming pool.

Fantastic service by the front desk, they were incredibly kind and accommodating despite our language barrier. The elevator was antique and very fun to ride on, but the down side is that it is quite loud and slow. The rooms themselves are very spacious and well equipped, so overall I would give it a 4.5!

I very much enjoyed my stay at Casa Hermann Suites. The staff was kind, hardworking, and accommodating. The hotel itself has a charming elevator which evoked the belle époque. The rooms were clean and had functioning kitchens, which was a nice addition. The location is ideal for seeing the zocalo. I highly recommend room 16, which has a balcony and a stunning view of the downtown area.

Casa Herman suites was a wonderful place to stay. It is located walking distance from museums, cathedrals and many restaurants and felt safe and secure . The staff are friendly and attentive and the antique elevator was really fun to use. William, Emanuel and Laura were especially helpful. Despite a language challenge they always made sure we were able to communicate. The small pool/ hot tub on the top deck was amazing to cool off in during the day and soak in at night. The rooms were modern, spacious, clean and very comfortable. The atrium was beautiful. The breakfast was really only baked goods and coffee . I loved staying here and would highly recommend it !

We stayed in Room 1, which is at the front of the building on the 3rd floor. We had four huge windows looking into Calle de la Palma (no view except the ugly building across the street, but we did have natural light). The double blinds were decent but not blackout quality. For us, the street noise wasn’t bad, but we only stayed on a Monday and Tuesday night, which are probably quieter than weekends. Our room had two comfortable queen beds and was vast, with a 12-foot ceiling. It was modern, very nicely furnished and lit, and extremely clean. One small downside was that there were no power outlets beside the beds. Also, although there is AC, it is not very powerful and we were quite warm at night. The bathroom was marble, had a huge backlit mirror, and a long shelf for toiletries. Again, everything was clean and functioned well, although the water pressure in the shower was rather weak. It was nice to have a kitchen area, with fridge, microwave, stovetop, coffee maker and toaster, but no kettle, although there was a pan for boiling water on the stove. Outside the rooms there was a pleasant interior courtyard with seating, which most of the other rooms had windows looking onto. A very minimal breakfast with coffee, fake orange juice and mini pastries was laid out at one end of the courtyard in the mornings. Guests are given a keycard to enter the building from the street, and there is also a very friendly doorman at reception (although note that he only speaks Spanish). The location is great: just one block west of the Zócalo and a minute’s walk from El Cardenal, which is great for breakfast or lunch (but make reservations). On the whole we felt that Casa Hermann Suites was very comfortable and certainly worth the approximately $140 US per night that we paid.
